Manta, Ecuador: Attack With High Potent Explosive

According to ElComercio.com on Monday June 143h an explosive device was thrown into a house on the block, La Pradera. Four men on motorcycles committed the act of ‘terrorism’ at 3:30 in the morning. Witness report that the area resembles a war zone. The neighborhood has police protection but residents are still scared. The Intervention and Rescue Group (GIR) is investigating and determined that the device was a high detonation explosive. The attack injured three adults and a child who were present. Damages were to a water line and roofs and structures of neighboring homes. Manta is having an increasing number of violent crimes. Last week a man was killed, who had come from the United States to visit his girlfriend. Oswaldo B., a neighborhood leader, says the act committed is terrorism and that Manta is becoming a place for cells of organized crime.Read Article
