Manabi Ecuador: government channeling streams to mitigate effects of upcomining El Niño

Portoviejo (Manabi). – The National Secretariat for Water (Senagua) is channeling streams in areas that were affected last winter. These prevention works aim to mitigate the effects it may cause the presence of the phenomenon “El Niño”, between January and April next year.

The streams located in Mapasinque sites, Pachinche Middle and El Pollo, Santa Ana and the cantons Portoviejo, which caused the sedimentation of two times the channel that carries raw water treatment plant in the city of Portmore and used for irrigation were channeled, so your involvement is minimal in winter.
