Major Vaccination and Immunization Campaign in Colombia

•A major vaccination and immunization campaign will occur in 22 departments affected by the winter conditions in Colombia in the next 3 months.
•Eluniversal.com.co reports that the effort will attempt to vaccinate 223,600 individuals for free.
•One focus will be vaccinating children under six years old against diseases such as tuberculosis, diphtheria, rotavirus as well as others.
•These children will also receive antiparasitic drugs and micronutrients.
•Women from ages 10 to 49 and pregnant women will be vaccinated for tetanus.
•People older than 60 will be another focus of the campaign.
•The members leading the campaign are the Pan American Health Organization, the International Organization for Migration, and Colombia Humanitaria who are working with Colombia’s Ministry of Social Protection. Read Article
