Recent Lynchings in Mexico Due to Lack of Governance, Experts Say

Leading sociologists say the recent lynching attempts in southern Mexico City are due to failures by the government, La Policiaca reports. They point to a lack of confidence in the police force as the reason citizens are attempting to take the law into their own hands. Corruption and repression have pervaded the police force in recent decades and the people do not feel secure, one expert stated.
