Lonquimay, Chile affected by large amounts of snowfall

ONEMI, the National Emergency Office, reported an early warning alert for the storm system in the region of Biobío as well as various Red and Yellow alerts in multiple communes around the area in Chile according to Terra. In the Biobío region, Route Q-90 remains blocked off due to landslides, however many ports and the Maria Dolores, Bernardo O`Higgins y Carriel Sur airports are open. Power outages have affected 1,500 customers in La Araucanía, while ONEMI has shipped boxes of food to people isolated by the storm. Read Article.
