Latin America: highest rate of Cesarean deliveries in the world

Latin America is the region where most cesareans are performed. 38% of those born between 2006 and 2010 came to the world in an operating room, according to the latest State of the World’s Children UNICEF. More and more women and doctors heed not the recommendations of health authorities, who have spent decades warning of the risks of surgically solve a process as natural as birth. (The Country).
The World Health Organization (WHO) says that one should have a cesarean when labor can not develop normally, what happens in 15% of cases. Above that figure is considered unnecessary surgery. Read Article
