Investigations in Ceará, Brazil, Reveal Presence of São Paulo Crime Syndicate

On October 15, 2013, Diário do Nordeste reported that security forces have discovered a faction of the São Paulo-based Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC) in the northeastern state of Ceará, near the capital of Fortaleza.  Police report that such sightings are not new in the state:  normally the group’s members have escaped from Rio de Janeiro or São Paulo.  However, police have been able to link some of these fugitives to a series of bank robberies and other criminal activities throughout the state.  Read Article
