Interpol captures Ecuadorian in Guatemala, wanted in Peru for drug trafficking

Interpol captured Ecuadorian citizen William Alsivar Medina Rodríguez, 40, in Guatemala City on May 28, 2012. He was wanted in Peru for crimes against public health and drug trafficking, El Universo reports. The arrest occurred at the immigration office in Guatemala City, where Medina had been in the process of completing an application for residency in Guatemala. Officials took him into custody after checking the database and realizing Interpol had issued an international arrest warrant for him. Medina was brought before a criminal judge in order to make arrangements for his extradition to Peru. Read Article
