Internet usage, penetration growing in Ecuador

Internet usage in the country is growing. When you post that one third of the population has access to the Internet through a connection at home, Internet cafes, information centers, educational institutions, office, etc.. Currently the country has hundreds of Internet service providers, but not counted more than 30 active operators nationwide, says Francisco Balarezo, executive director of the Association of Internet Service Providers (AEPROVI). 80% of Web users is less than 10 suppliers, whose main customers, in number, are the country’s households and 20% is in business. It is considered that 80% of access is in housing and Ecuadorian families, which spend between $ 20 and $ 30 for Internet hiring plans. Read Article
