ILO reports nine million children working in Latin America

The International Labour Organization (ILO) yesterday reported that about nine million children and adolescents work in Latin America, with the most serious cases in Brazil, Peru, Mexico and Colombia.
“Brazil has the largest number of working children in Latin America, followed by Peru, Mexico followed, and fourth in Colombia, not to mention to Haiti,” said the deputy director of the ILO for the Andean region, the Puerto Rican Maria Arteta, who did not specify the numbers. Read Article
