Human Trafficking nearly as profitable as Drug Trafficking in Latin America, per report

elmundo.es reported human trafficking for sexual and labor exploitation, which generates every year 12.000 million profit in Latin America and the Caribbean, according to the International Labour Organization (ILO), is becoming a sideline nearly as profitable and more sure that drug trafficking organizations for organized crime.

“We believe that human trafficking is growing in the region, especially in the Caribbean, can reach triple in the coming years,” said Amado Philip de Andrés, regional representative for Central America and the Caribbean of the United Nations on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). Read Article
