Human Trafficking Affects All Areas of Bogotá, Colombia

•According to eltiempo.com, human trafficking, which affects all sectors of Bogotá, is mainly caused by poverty and displacement.
•Colombia’s capital is a main destination for child trafficking from all over the country from areas such as the Llanos Orientales or the Atlantic Coast, and children are also trafficked from the city to other parts of Colombia.
•Traffickers also use children in schools to attract other children.
•Women from the lower statuses of society are more vulnerable to sexual exploitation; however, other better off women are lured by promises of scholarships or modeling careers.
•The exploitation of prostitution, servile matrimony, and forced labor are also problems within Bogotá. Read Article
