Highway Police in Brazil Targets Cases of Sexual Exploitation of Minors

On October 14, 2013, the Brazilian Federal Highway Police (PRF) reported numbers related to its pursuit to stop sexual exploitation of children and teenagers in the country.  From 2006 until today, the PRF has arrested 1,662 individuals suspected of sexual abuse of minors, and rescued roughly 3,812 children from situations where they could be exploited.  The PRF last made a map between 2011 and 2012 of areas throughout the country where there is a high risk of such activity, and the police plans to update the map in anticipation for the 2014 World Cup.  Read Article
