Heavy Rains Cause Damage Quito Ecuador

March 10, 2017 – extra.ec – The heavy rain of Quito , the afternoon of this March 10, caused several emergencies.

In Santa Ana, south of the city, a street was covered with water and a van, which was loaded with children, stayed in the middle of the flood.

The infants were rescued by agents of the Municipality , according to the Emergency Operations Center (COE) .

Also, in San Roque , a concrete wall fell on a house; Three children were assisted, as they were inside the building when the incident occurred. The residents of the area felt that the “earth trembled” and minutes later their neighbors were trapped.

Some depressed bridges were also flooded, for example, in the America and University avenues , sector Central U, there was congestion due to the accumulation of water. The passage was closed for several minutes.
