ElComercio.com reports that this past weekend the Ecuadorian coast has experienced cloudy skies and a drop in temperatures, which is supposed to end today, Monday August 1st. The Naval Oceanographic Institute (Inocar) says the coast will experience wave forces at 12 nautical miles. Authorities say the cantons of Puerto Bolivar, La Libertad and the Galapagos Islands will experience minimum temperatures of 22 degrees Celsius and maximum temperatures of 27 degrees. In the cantons of Guayaquil, Esmeraldas, and Manta the temperature are presumed to vary from 23 and 24 degrees to 30 degrees Celsius. Inocar officials warn swimmers to be careful after storm surges occur when ocean currents are the strongest. Officials caution swimmers to enter the ocean at this time. An INAMHI forecaster in the Guayaquil area says the Ecuadorian coast is influenced by the Humboldt Current resulting in the reduction of temperatures, typical for the beginning of August.Read Article
