Guatemala, Extortion gangs seek to extend southeast section of the country

Analysis of the expanding police warn that gangs operating in the country seeking to exercise, as in provinces bordering with El Salvador have seen graffiti that announce the arrival of these groups. The Development of National Unity against Criminal Gang (PANDA) will implement the Plan Panda in the east of the country in May. The graffiti have been used to analyze the hidden messages that make gangs to mark their territory. According to studies by the authorities, these groups seek to regionalize its operations (extortion, murder, arms trafficking and drug distribution) in the Northern Triangle countries of Central America, namely Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras.
