Guatemala, El Salvador discuss anti-drug strategies

The whole fight against organized crime is on the agenda of a meeting Monday between President of Guatemala, Otto Perez Molina, and his Salvadoran Mauricio Funes, said Interior Minister Mauricio López Bonilla. “It is very important to all the mechanics of communication and coordination relationships allows us to have a joint agenda in terms of combating organized crime,” Lopez said Bonilla.”We handle many ways the same agenda with El Salvador because of the porosity of our borders,” explained the official. Recently, the Salvadoran president explained that he wanted to visit Guatemala to continue with plans that were drawn with former President Alvaro Colom, “for greater involvement of both armed forces and Public Security Forces, including police, at regional level”.
