Guatemala authorizes extradition former president to the U.S.

Guatemala’s President Alvaro Colom on Tuesday authorized the extradition of former President Alfonso Portillo (2000-2004) United States, where he is accused of laundering $ 70 million (48.3 million euros) in banks in this country. In a press conference, Colom explained that his decision was motivated by his desire not to interfere in judicial decisions by various courts in the country for the surrender of former U.S. president to the country.
