Fugitive, Drugs, and Illegal Alien Detained at U.S.-Mexican Border

According to La Crónica on May 21, 2013 a fugitive from the United States and an undocumented person were arrested and drugs were seized at a border checkpoint between San Diego and Tijuana last week. The first incident began when Pedro García Hernández was detained at a pedestrian border crossing after a routine documentation check. An agent of the U.S. Office of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) discovered that García Hernández had warrants out for his arrest in connection to a murder in Houston, Texas. García Hernández was sent back to authorities in San Diego. The second incident concerned an undocumented immigrant who was found hiding in a modified Ford Explorer. The driver of the vehicle was detained in San Diego, while the immigrant was deported back to Mexico. The third incident occurred when a dog alerted authorities to the presence of drugs in a GMC Sierra that had a modified gas tank where more than 84 kilos of liquid amphetamines were found.
