French and Colombian governments demand FARC release journalist

The French government appointed him to be kidnapped on Sunday and urged the rebel group to release him immediately and keep his word to end the kidnapping, a crime that has been used for decades as a pressure mechanism and funding source.
Colombia FARC also asked to immediately release the journalist and said he would not perform any military rescue operation.
Defense Minister Juan Carlos Pinzón said Langlois, who lives in Colombia 12 years ago, took off a vest and helmet wearing for protection before walking into the area from where the guerrillas fired. Read Article
