Four Rivers of Cuenca Ecuador water determined good but, still have quality issues

It is not a condition but the water quality of four rivers that cross through Cuenca is in good condition. This is the report that has the Surveillance Program Water Quality of tributaries Cuenca. The Environmental Management Unit, City Stage Company, has a water monitoring system of Tomebamba Yanuncay Machángara and Tarqui. In 1984 started with 16 stations and now are 80. Organic matter from the discharge of sewage directly into the tributaries was the main pollutant. Was determined by high biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) of the tributaries and the overpopulation of bacteria and microorganisms. Read Article
