Former military hostages of FARC reveal degrading and inhuman treatment by captors

OGOTA. – The Colombian Army sergeant Luis Alberto Arcia, released on Monday after 14 years and one month kidnapped by the FARC, said Tuesday that the guerrillas kept it, along with other hostages, “chained for eight long years.”Arcia and three noncommissioned and three noncommissioned officers released yesterday revealed at a press conference degrading and inhuman treatment received command of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC).

“We were chained for eight long years and I think it is more, chained in pairs, 24 hours a day, sometimes we were chained to the feet and sometimes hands,” said Arcia, now 41 years. Read Article
