For the first time a woman will be nominated by a major party in Mexico

Josefina Vazquez Mota represent the ruling National Action. The former MP and former Minister Josefina Vazquez Mota was elected presidential candidate of the ruling National Action Party (PAN), which governs Mexico from 2000 to the July elections, with 55% of the vote in an internal consultation held this Sunday. “I’ll be the first woman president of this country,” he proclaimed in his speech after learning of his victory and also defended the work of President Calderon said “decision faced with organized crime and has worked tirelessly for our families. ” Vazquez, who was Secretary of Education has stated that Calderon won the presidency, will keep the strategy of using military deployment against drug cartels.
