Flood Alert: Petropolis Rio de Janeiro Brazil

The State Environmental Institute (INEA) has today (27) Flood Warning System in Petropolis, a city in the mountain region of Rio affected by strong January this year. The system operates 24 hours a day and consists of 20 rainfall stations, which measure the intensity of rainfall and river water, which measure the flow capacity of watercourses.

The initiative is intended to alert the public about the increased level of rivers and prevent new tragedies occur as of January, in which more than 70 people died in the city. Read Article
