First three months 2012, 21,000 Guatemalans deported from Mexico and U.S.

The Department of Migration (DGM) of Guatemala announced today that it has received over 21 thousand Guatemalans deported by immigration authorities of Mexico and the United States in the first three and a half months of this year.

Report of GMD indicates that U.S. authorities deported 795 9 000 Guatemalan immigrants who remained undocumented so in that nation. In addition, Mexico sent back to 11 000 261 Guatemalans who had crossed the border between the two nations to try to reach the United States. Read Article

In 2011, the two nations deported a total of 62 000 200 Guatemalans living illegally.
