Fear of outbreak of violence in land invasions, Mixteca Mexico

Municipal authorities and commons of San Pedro Teozacoalco, located in the Mixteca region, warned a new outbreak of violence in the area due to the invasion of their land by settlers of Santa Maria Tataltepec. In this regard, Mario Caballero Montes, Teozacoalco mayor, said that since the first days of November, Tataltepec commoners began a series of work with heavy machinery on cropland that are in dispute. The land, he said, are part of a dispute between the towns of San Pedro joint Teozacoalco, San Miguel Piedras, Yutanduchi Guerrero and San Mateo Sindhui. Read Article
