FARC’s Relocation Causes More Violence to Cauca, Colombia

•The Cauca department in Colombia has experienced more violence than usual due to FARC’s relocation to the Cordillera Central in Colombia.
•The indigenous people of the area are suffering the consequences and are being controlled by FARC’s guerillas according to Rodrigo Rojas, a representative of Pax Cristhi per RCN Radio.
•Rojas states that the indigenous people of the area also asked former President Uribe to stop the guerillas from recruiting their people, but Uribe did not aid them.
•Rojas attributes Cauca’s current situation to Uribe’s lack of action.
•He is also against President Santos placing military units in the area because it would further involve the indigenous people in the conflict. Read Article
