Ecuador’s Rafael Correa denounces U.S. media on bashing govts of Venezuela, Brazil

Posted on April 13, 2016 • Filed under: Ecuador, Politics, United States reported Ecuadorean President Rafael Correa denounced U.S. media bashing on the progressive governments of Venezuela and Brazil, Tuesday.

In New York on a tour to promote tourism in Ecuador, Correa set the narrative straight on several attacks against left-wing South American governments.

While the media has painted the Venezuelan National Assembly in a largely positive light, Correa said the amnesty law they recently approved, declared unconstitutional by Venezuela’s Supreme Court, is abhorrent.

The law would grant impunity to perpetrators of right-wing violence, including the deadly opposition protests in the “Guarimbas” of 2014, which left 43 people dead. Read Article
