Ecuadorian Airline Tame to Provide More Locations

According to ElComercio.com Tame Airlines and ATR Turboprops signed a purchase agreement for the ownership of three new ATR 42-500 aircrafts worth $54 million on Wednesday June 22nd. Tame will use these aircrafts for domestic economy flights called, “Milk Train” flights. These flights will connect several smaller cities on a single route. Destinations include Puyo, Santa Rosa, Tena, and Latacunga along with other smaller terminals. The flights will begin in September 2011. Gustavo Cuesta, Tame president says that the new aircrafts are eco-efficient and can easily fly to places with warm temperatures and short runways. Tame used the aircraft exhibition, Le Bourget to acquire its new aircraft. Recently, ATR has been entering the Latin American aircraft market with force. Today, there are 120 ATR aircrafts in the region. On Monday, June 20th Tame reopened the route Quito-Manta-Quito, which has been suspended since 2009.Read Article
