Ecuador: Vanguardia magazine’s computers, equipment seized, employees removed from premises

Yesterday, at 15:10, personnel from the Ministry of Labour Relations and the police entered the premises of Vanguard magazine located on Avenida Eloy Alfaro and Jose Doors, north of Quito.
From 17:00, the National Union of Journalists (UNP), Ivan Flores, general editor, Juan Carlos Calderon, director of Vanguard and the news team of the magazine, gave his view of what happened. Flores explained that the search warrant in response to a labor debt by USD 20 800, which is why applied coercive opened. He explained that people (Police and Ministry staff) broke into the premises and took in the first instance, all the computers of journalists and designers. Read Article
