Ecuador: Two Expats killed when crushed by wave in Crucita

eldiario.ec reported that two foreigners died the night of this Saturday, April 1, 2017, after being hit by a wave in the parish of Crucita, De Portoviejo. The incident happened in the area adjacent to La Loma de Crucita, reported firefighters and members of the Police. The identity of the victims were not disclosed, but sources said the woman was from the U.S. and the deceased man was rom Venezuela and both lived in the parish.

It is reported that about 8:45 pm the couple was on the beach and at which time they were hit by a wave and then drugged to sea. Neighbors came to his aid and removed both people in unconscious state, they added. Firefighters said that when they arrived the woman had no vital signs. The man, still alive, was boarded in an ambulance to transfer him to Portoviejo but died on the way. Read Article
