Ecuador to hire 1000 doctors from Cuba

Ecuador’s President Rafael Correa announced on Saturday that his government plans to hire one thousand Cuban medical specialists at a cost of 30 million dollars annually. According to El Universo newspaper, the President said that the initiative aims at bringing preventive and family medicine to Ecuadorian neighborhoods. Correa underscored the performance of the Cuban health system by saying that “you have to learn from those who know more,” as he cited examples. Read Article
