Ecuador: suicide one of the top leading causes of death

Elcomerico.com.ec reported …. According to the Ecuadorian Institute of statistics and censuses, suicide is one of the 10 leading causes of death in 2011. Between 2000 and 2007 there were 1 231 cases, according to the integrated system of social indicators of Ecuador. In 2009, the figure grew to 900 cases. In the past 45 years, suicide rates have increased by 60% worldwide. Suicide is one of the three leading causes of death among people 15 to 44 years in some countries. Nationally, 913 cases with a rate of 6.3 per 100,000 inhabitants were counted in 2012. Of these, 659 men removed the lifetime against 254 who were women. Read Article
