Posted on January 11, 2015 • Filed under: Culture, Ecuador, Social Issues

Abstract
disde.minedu.gob.pe reported: Fifty-seven private schools in Quito (n
= 7,992) participated in the present
research; a questionnaire on bullying
was administered in order to obtain
general information, to get a global
index of bullying and intensity, and
to measure specific subscales of be-
havior. The results show very high
percentages of victims (52%), viewers
(80%) and bullies (61%). Bullying
rate is 39%, with a high or very high
intensity reported in 27% of cases.
There is a greater vulnerability in the
lower age, and there are some differ-
ences in gender. Blocking behavior
and social exclusion is very common
in schools, which would require ur-
gent action; other behaviors present
an intermediate frequency and would
also need intervention. Read Article-Spanish
