Ecuador shrimp industry finding barriers to to access in five international markets

Ecuador’s National Aquaculture Chamber (CNA) reports significant barriers preventing the access to all or part of shrimp trade for Ecuadorean producers. Exporters have reported complications in Argentina, China, South Korea, Egypt and Brazil, reports El Universo. Brazil is not accepting shipments from Ecuador because it still has a sanitary barrier on Ecuador, arguing that it still needs to perform a risk analysis due to the white spot virus that hit Ecuador, Jose Antonio Camposano, director of CNA, told the newspaper.
