Ecuador: Several sextortion cases being reported in last several months

Sex Extortion cases on the uptick using social networks to capture their victims, says Polivio Vinueza, head of the Anti-Kidnapping and Extortion (Join) Unit.

Eluniverso.com reported that according to the Interior Ministry, in recent months there have been several complaints of sectorition. The modus modus operandi begins with alleged foreign models who send friend requests on social media. Most of the victims are men. After several days of interaction, women seeking intimate videos of the victims and then will use the videos to extort money.
The Join working with Interpol stated similar crimes are also being reported in Venezuela, Colombia and other countries. Read Article
