Ecuador: Military destroys coca plantations near Cuyabeno National Park

Four hectares planted with coca plant were found in Brisas del Cuyabeno Sucumbios, during a patrol of the Army, on Thursday. Yesterday, officials of the Jungle Brigade 19 Napo, criminology and police officers were mobilized to narcotics there. Fifty soldiers guarded the premises, in a sector near the Cuyabeno Nature Reserve. Is there a risk that these crops away from the border and penetrate deeper into the country?
