Ecuador: Journalist surprises President with non-approved question, press conference terminated (Video)

emiliopalacio.com reported that journalist Paulina Bustamante of the newspaper Diario Centinela of Loja surprised President Correa with a question not approved by his advance team for prearranged questions. On Thursday, August 14, 2014 in front of President Rafael Correa, the reporter refused to read the prepared question that had been arranged and tried to pose a question about a road that the President in 2012 had previously promised would be constructed. She wanted to convey citizens concerns over the lack of progress on the road Catamayo- Gonzanamá-Cariamanga-Sozoranga-Macara.

President Correa refused to allow her to ask the question or to answer the question and said he does not accept the journalist of “doubting” the President’s word and ended the press conference. Read Article
