Ecuador inflation continues upward March 2012

Consumer prices in Ecuador rose 0.90% in March driven by an increase in the value of food and clothing, the government said Thursday.
The index in the third month of the year is higher than 0.78% to 0.34% in February and March 2011. The rate is the third highest reported for the month in the last eight years. According to the report of the Ecuadorian Institute of Statistics and Census (INEC), the acceleration of inflation in March was attributed to increased prices of food and beverages, clothing and footwear, and restaurants and hotels.
