Ecuador: Human Smuggling network broken up, Asian victims

Victims headed to U.S. were Nepalese, Bengali and Hindi
Coordinated action between the police forces of Ecuador and Colombia in Quito allowed the dismantling of a band dedicated to trafficking in persons, particularly of Asian, whose final destination was the United States, officials said Monday. The Interior Ministry said six suspects Ecuador Nepalese origin, Bengali and Hindi were arrested in the operation, which allowed the rescue of 18 victims of human trafficking. In Colombia, the ministry said, was arrested 13 others suspected of repeat operation. The Attorney General of Ecuador, Galo Chiriboga said in press conference that spoke with Colombian authorities, which offered to forward the “information that the Office of Colombia required to support cases have there.” Read Article
