Ecuador has shortage of mining engineers for local market

Ecuador is facing large-scale mining with a shortage of professionals in the field. According to official data, in the coming years the country will need 300 mining engineers and geologists to address the exploitation of metals. But a year graduate no more than 40 professionals. The absence must be covered, the early years, with foreign experts. Two causes have led to shortages of professionals in the country: lack of academic offerings in mining and low demand for these professionals in the market. Read Article
