Ecuador: Government reports more access to health for citizens over last six years

avn.info.ve reported that during the last six years in Ecuador have decreased poverty-related diseases, such as tuberculosis and malaria through health prevention policies, tracking cases and economic growth of Ecuadorian families. Senplades revealed that out of 100,000 inhabitants, 3.3 died from tuberculosis in 2011, in contrast to 7.8 annual deaths were recorded in 2001. For malaria, in 2011 per 100,000 persons died 0.01, while 0.67 people died in 2001. In recent years, Ecuadorians have regained confidence in the public health issue that has been shown to increase consultations with state hospitals. In 2006 there were a total of 16 million doctor visits, while in 2011 reached 35 million. Ecuador has taken prominence in the continent in caring for people with disabilities. During the term of Correa Ecuador Program was created without barriers, integrating Manuela Espejo Solidarity missions, Joaquín Gallegos Lara and Ecuador Smile for the detection, diagnosis, treatment and technical and financial assistance to people with disabilities and even those who watch by them.
