Ecuador closes 14 universities because of low quality of education

Ecuador’s government on Thursday closed 14 universities due to “poor quality” of education they offer, after evaluating them for a year and a half, affecting 38,000 students.

Entities today woke police presence and a sign placed on the doors that read: “Suspended due to lack of academic quality.”

“This is an academic fraud is a scam to the illusion of parents, many students,” he told a news conference Rene Ramirez, National Secretary of Higher Education, Science and Technology (Senescyt).
Universities closed

The 14 Ecuadorian universities closed by the authorities are the Polytechnic School Ecological Amazon Javierana Polytechnic School, the University of Quito, Christian University Latin American Intercontinental University, the University Alfredo Pérez Guerrero, Pan American University of Cuenca, the University American in Ecuador. It also closed the University Og Mandino, San Antonio Technical University of Machala, American Technological University, Universitas Equatorialis, the Polytechnic School Products “Professor Montero Ludeña Servius Tullius,” and the Technical University of Environmental Sciences Jose Peralta.
