Ecuador: Assailants Use GPS Systems to Map Escape Routes

According to Expreso.ec police apprehended a robber that was involved with four other men in an assault on an Ecuadorian citizen who had just drawn $2,200 from the Bank of Guayaquil in the commercial center of California Park. Police say when they caught the fifth robber they discovered that the gang of robbers were using a Global Positioning System (GPS) to plan their escape after committing crimes. During the arrest, police confiscated a GPS system, two portable radios, 29 9-millimeter ammunitions, and ten 12-millimeter cartridges.Read Article
