Ecuador: 87 % of drugs seized destined for foreign markets

elcomercio.com reported Ecuador is considered according to the American Police Community (Ameripol) in a report entitled Situational Analysis of Drug Trafficking – a crossing of drugs and identifies Guayaquil (Guayas), Manta (Manabi) and Puerto Bolívar (El Oro) as vulnerable international drug trafficking. The narcotics agents require that the most common way to transport narcotics is called ‘blind hook’ on camouflaged within loads of food. More than 150 tons of drugs have been seized by narcotics from 2007 to October 2014 “So far this year, police work has achieved the seizure of 44.8 tons. 87% of this seizure corresponds to illicit substances destined for international traffic, while 13% (more than 5.89 t) was for domestic consumption.” Read Article
