Dominican Republic: 36 deaths due to dengue so far 2012

Dengue cases continue to come to the main clinics and hospitals in the country, adding to the growing concern in the population. So far this year, the number of deaths from this disease reached 36 and those affected to 6.838 cases, including 114 serious. One concern was about yesterday externada community leader Swamp sector, Jesus Martinez, who said that in this community have been reported at least 20 cases, including five members of his family. He said that despite often trying to communicate with the authorities of the Ministry of Health to explain the seriousness of the matter, so far not observed specific actions toward this sector.
