DAS Plane to Take Captured FARC Leaders from Ecuador to Colombia

According to ElComercio.com the two FARC guerrillas arrested in Quito were transferred to the headquarters of the narcotics police in Quito and are awaiting a deportation hearing Tuesday June 28th. Officials say this morning a Colombian DAS plane arrived to transport the guerrillas to Colombia. One of the suspects, Fabio R. is the second in command of the Frente 48, which operates on the Colombian border with Ecuador. The Colombian Armed Forces confirmed that the identification. Officials say that Fabio Ramirez Artunduaga, is also known as ‘Danilo.’ Ramirez was the head of the Frente 48 until last December when ‘Robledo’ replaced him. Ramirez is close to ‘Joaquin Gomez,’ another important head of the FARC. The Colombian forces offered a 380-million peso reward for the capture of Ramirez, who is suspected to be involved with the murder of 8 police officers in San Miguel, Putumayo during September 2010.Read Article
