Cusco, Peru Airport: Spanish Tourist Arrested Transporting Cocaine

RPP.com.pe reports that a Spanish citizen was arrested while trying to transport 2 kilos and 100 grams of cocaine hidden in a jacket, long with an article of jewelry, in the Cusco Airport. The national police of Peru have custody of the foreigner, whose name is no available. The apprehension of the suspect was done in the presence of a representative of the Public Ministry. Similar situations have been reported by police in Arequipa where a Spanish man was detained, and in Cusco, just days ago, when two woman and a man were arrested while seeking to carry drugs to Spain. Police say that these incidences of drug cases suggest that there is a network of Spanish “burriers” or smugglers in the south of Peru.Read Article
