Cuenca Ecuador: four detained while attempting to witdraw money from ATM using cloned cards

Posted on November 15, 2013 • Filed under: Crime, Ecuador, TRAVEL reported that the Judicial Police of Azuay (PJ) detained on November 13, 2013, two Ecuadorians and two foreigners attempting to withraw money from from ATMs of a financial institution, with cloned credit/debit cards. The operation was carried out with alert cameras video surveillance of the Central of emergency ECU-911. THe suspects were found in possession of USD 6 000.00. They were in possession of 84 cloned cards with passwords and receipts of withdrawals. Authorities believe the four are part of a larger gang. Police are urging all individuals with accounts to check their balances and make sure their are no unlawful withdrawals. Read Article
