Cuenca Ecuador: four detained while attempting to witdraw money from ATM using cloned cards

Elcomercio.com reported that the Judicial Police of Azuay (PJ) detained on November 13, 2013, two Ecuadorians and two foreigners attempting to withraw money from from ATMs of a financial institution, with cloned credit/debit cards. The operation was carried out with alert cameras video surveillance of the Central of emergency ECU-911. THe suspects were found in possession of USD 6 000.00. They were in possession of 84 cloned cards with passwords and receipts of withdrawals. Authorities believe the four are part of a larger gang. Police are urging all individuals with accounts to check their balances and make sure their are no unlawful withdrawals. Read Article
