Cuenca Ecuador: Airport runway to be repaved August 2013

Eltiempo.com.ec reported that the contract for the recapavement, which will cost $ 215,000, has already been awarded and the works are scheduled for August. Intervention time is 60 days.

According to Juan Ignacio Ordóñez, director of Cuenca Airport Corporation, the work will not disrupt normal flight service, for the work shall be executed in non-operational hours.

The last action on the track was made in 2008, and new works are part of a preventive maintenance, which will have a use for the next two or three years.

A second part of this year is scheduled for remodeling the terminal infrastructure, which mainly involve a change in mobility of people. The work will cost $ 1.5 million and is expected to begin in September.
